I second the 7/25-26 road trips, and I do think those shows are underrated, or at least underrepresented.

What draws people to 9/24? The Dark Star > China Cat is cool and the transition is done well, but the dark star doesn't seem particularly special to me; should I listen again to that, or are there other highs in that show that I have missed?

The november 71 tour should be legendary, and indeed it is to many people. My personal favorite is 11/07, but the not fade away from 11/15 is better (although 11/07 has a better GDTRFB). And yeah, I almost never listen to the April '71 shows. Apart from the 4/28 and 4/29 hard to handles, and the 4/29 alligator jam, nothing particularly of note seems to have happened on those dates. However, I am an advocate of 8/6; I think it's even better than it's been hyped up to be. But take that with a grain of salt; I mostly listen to the H2H from that show :)

Right now I'm trying to decide whether I should fork up the dollars for the latest road trips. It looks promising, and I'm constantly trying to find good 80s shows (I'm one of those who things the selection is pretty sparse), but is it going to be worth the $?

"is it going to be worth the $?"

Only if they include Jer noodling "High Above Cayuga's Waters" during the take a step back before Tennessee Jed...
